Acsystème Report Toolbox (ART)
Since 2010, ART has been automatically generating and updating reports in Word or Excel by using Matlab programmes. A significant time-saving that benefits all Acsystème’s projects. A Scilab version is also being developed!
ART functions run on the same principle as Word and Excel applications:
- to edit a Word document, the user opens Word, creates a new document, or opens an existing one, and changes it by inserting text, a figure, or a table, by formatting the text or a table,
- similarly in Excel, the user opens Excel, creates a workbook, or opens an existing one, and edits the sheets by writing and formatting the cells.
ART grants computer-aided access to these functionalities. ART functions generally output a reference to the application (Word or Excel) or its component (document, table, figure, workbook, sheet, cell) object. Once the sequence of functions is defined, the documentation is updated transparently at each parameter change or simulation run. The report is then formatted and ready for release. This is the way reports are generated at Acsystème. It enables us to have a fast reaction time when a client requests a change to a model input parameter and an assessment of its impact.
